The City of St. Albert will be closing all front counter service to comply with the provincial public health orders announced December 8, 2020. Other than the Customer Service Desk at St. Albert Place, all front counter services are closed effective December 14.

The Customer Service Desk at St. Albert Place (SAP) will remain open for drop-in service on Monday, December 14 and Tuesday, December 15 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Starting Wednesday, December 16 the Customer Service Desk at SAP will be closed until further notice.

During front counter closures, residents can purchase extra garbage bag tags with their credit card by calling the City at 780-459-1506, Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Garbage bag tags will be available for pick-up the next day at the Mike Mitchell Recycling Depot at 7 Chevigny Street. Garbage bag tags will not be available for purchase or pick-up on Dec. 25, 2020 and Jan. 1, 2021.
Residents who pay their utility bill in person at St. Albert Place can do so until Tuesday, December 15 at 5 p.m. After that date, residents will still be able to drop off their payment using the secure drop box beside the front entry doors of St. Albert Place.

Changes to front counter services minimize in-person interactions for the safety and well-being of our residents and staff.

Servus Credit Union Place and Fountain Park Recreation Centre closed their entire facilities effective December 13 and will remain closed for at least four weeks. This closure includes the cancellation of all activities at Servus Place and Fountain Park Recreation Centres. The only exceptions are for the Daycare in Fountain Park, and the customers of Active Physio Works in Servus Place, who may continue to access the facilities for these purposes though booked appointments only. Virtual fitness classes will be available starting December 21, 2020. More information on these classes will be available the week of December 14, 2020 at stalbert.ca/rec.

Anyone with questions on Aquatics can call or email 780-459-1553 or fprc@stalbert.ca and anyone with questions regarding fitness or recreation can call 780-418-6088 or email spquestions@stalbert.ca. For more information on what’s closed, visit stalbert.ca and search Facility Closures.

Residents, staff working in local businesses, and their patrons are reminded to follow all provincial public health measures, including wearing a face covering, practicing physical distancing, washing or sanitizing hands frequently, and staying home if feeling sick.

We encourage St. Albertans to stay active through physical-distanced outdoor, individual recreation activities. For example, pathways and trails, tobogganing hills, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, fat biking and more. When participating in outdoor activities, residents are reminded to follow all provincial public health orders in place.

The City thanks residents, businesses and patrons for their patience as we continue to work through our response to the pandemic and to comply with the latest provincial public health orders.

For more information, visit the City’s website at stalbert.ca/covid19.
