COVID-19 Recovery Task Force Meeting Update

Meeting held on June 24, 2020 

Members of the COVID-19 Recovery Task Force met on June 24, 2020 to discuss how the committee will support St. Albert’s economic and social resiliency from the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting focused on the fundamental purpose of the Task Force, the approval of their Vision Statement as well as their Terms of Reference. An important component of the meeting included identifying and understanding the various ways St. Albert has been impacted by the pandemic so they can develop strategies that will support its recovery. The scope for an event to bring the community together was also discussed.

“Recovery from the pandemic will focus on economic and business impacts, but we must also be well aware of and understand the human impacts that have affected all of our business owners and residents,” says Mayor Cathy Heron. “It’s important that we support the strategies to help everyone within the community move forward and create a stronger tomorrow.”

The Recovery Task Force is a 10-member committee, which includes a cross-section of business and community leaders, who will make recommendations to Council.
