COVID-19 Recovery Task Force Meeting Update
Meeting held on July 8, 2020
Members of the COVID-19 Recovery Task Force met on July 8, 2020 to discuss how the committee will support St. Albert’s economic and social resiliency from the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting focused on the continued identification and understanding of the various ways St. Albert has been impacted by the pandemic. The Task Force also delved into potential strategies that will support our business community including community strengths, opportunities we can capitalize on, and barriers or challenges that need to be addressed. The meeting also included a discussion around a Utility Scale Solar Farm, as well as a possible community gathering event later in the fall to celebrate St. Albert’s resiliency through the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Resiliency doesn’t occur overnight and it takes a thoughtful and holistic approach to determine how to create the most sustainable supports for our community,” says Mayor Cathy Heron. “We are exploring innovative ideas and strategies that will create a strong foundation and help us build towards a brighter future.”
The Recovery Task Force is a 10-member committee, which includes a cross-section of business and community leaders, who will make recommendations to Council.
The next meeting of the Recovery Task Force is scheduled to take place on July 22, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. For more information, visit COVID-19 Recovery Task Force.
