COVID-19 Recovery Task Force Meeting Update

Meeting held on June 8, 2020 

Members of the COVID-19 Recovery Task Force met on June 8, 2020 to discuss how the committee will support St. Albert’s economic and social resiliency from the COVID-19 pandemic. During the meeting, presentations were provided on current social impacts as well as the state of the local economy to help the Task Force identify challenges that will need to be addressed moving forward.

“COVID-19 has affected our community in numerous ways,” says Mayor Cathy Heron. “It’s important that we understand the social, economic and business impacts of this pandemic and take a holistic approach to the revitalization and long-term sustainability of our community.”

The Recovery Task Force is a 10-member committee, which includes a cross-section of business and community leaders, who will make recommendations to Council. The Recovery Task Force’s inaugural meeting was on May 25, 2020.
