COVID-19 Recovery Task Force Meeting Update

Meeting held on October 28, 2020

Members of the COVID-19 Recovery Task Force met on October 28, 2020 to discuss how the committee will support St. Albert’s economic and social recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The meeting focused on reviewing draft recommendations that have been developed based on several months of work by the Recovery Task Force in which they identified potential outcome statements and strategies.

The Recovery Task Force discussed public engagement and is looking for input from St. Albertans on ideas that can be considered within the community to support recovery efforts from the pandemic to inform their work moving forward. The Task Force is soliciting feedback from now until November 30 on the City’s new online engagement platform, Cultivate the Conversation. “The Task Force has worked extremely hard to find the right blend of supports and recommendations that will enable the business and social sectors to build resiliency and sustainability,” says Mayor Cathy Heron. “I’m looking forward to the coming months when we can begin our road to recovery together.”

The Recovery Task Force is a 10-member committee, which includes a cross-section of business and community leaders, who will make recommendations to Council.

The next meeting of the Recovery Task Force is scheduled to take place on November 10, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
