City Receives Award for Financial Reporting

The City of St. Albert is the proud recipient of the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its 2024 Annual Report. This is the 24th consecutive year the City of St. Albert has received this award for its annual financial report.

The City’s 2024 Annual Report was judged by an impartial Canadian Review Committee to ensure it met the high standards of the program. The Canadian Award for Financial Reporting Program was established to encourage municipal governments throughout Canada to publish high-quality financial reports and to provide peer recognition and technical guidance for officials preparing these reports. Its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

The annual financial report has been judged by impartial Canadian Review Committee members to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” designed to clearly communicate the municipality’s financial story and to motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.

“Twenty-four years of producing an award-winning annual report showcases the dedication and transparency the City captures within its financial reporting,” says Mayor Scott Olivieri. “Congratulations to our leadership and Financial and Strategic Services teams on achieving these high standards year-over-year.”
