St. Albert Firefighters Recognized with National Award
The City of St. Albert and the St. Albert Firefighters IAFF Local 2130 are pleased to announce that the firefighters involved with the St. Albert Annual Muscular Dystrophy Rooftop Campaign received the 2025 National Dr. David Green Award as the Fire Department of the Year from Muscular Dystrophy Canada on November 22, 2025.
Over $50,000 was raised for Muscular Dystrophy Canada during the fundraising initiative earlier in the year thanks to the generosity of the community.
Groups and individuals recognized during the award ceremony showed exceptional commitment to improving the lives of Canadians affected by neuromuscular disorders by raising critical funds, increasing awareness and advocating for our community, supporting continued research, engaging with other community members and building positive connections.
This recognition showcases the collaboration between the City, IAFF Local 2130 and the community.
Congratulations to all our St. Albert firefighters involved in this incredible achievement!
