Monthly Utility E-Billing Exemption Program Now Available
Residents without home internet access must apply for exemption
Starting July 1, the City will be moving to monthly paperless billing for all utility bills. Residents will need to register for e-billing, a service the City already provides, so their utility bills can be delivered via email. Those residents, who do not have home internet access, can apply for the exemption program, which is now available.
The exemption program will allow residents without home internet access to continue to receive paper notices for St. Albert utility bills at no additional cost. Residents in the exemption program will need to reapply each year.
To apply for the exemption program:
- Pick up an exemption form at Utilities – Main Floor, City Hall, 5 St. Anne Street.
- Know someone without home internet access? Download the exemption form for them - available online at stalbert.ca and search ‘Monthly Utility E-billing’.
- Fill out the form and either drop it off or mail it back to Utilities – Main Floor, City of St. Albert, 5 St. Anne Street, T8N 3Z9.
- Deadline: Two weeks prior to the next billing date. To ensure you are on the exemption program for July 1, submit your form to the City by June 17.
Communication about monthly utility e-billing will continue throughout the coming months and includes information on our website, utility bill inserts, social media and newspaper ads.
The move to monthly utility billing was facilitated by various factors including resident requests, Council direction and the technology/meters used for the City’s Water Meter Replacement Program.
For more information on the Exemption Program, call Utilities Services at 780-459-1520, Option 2. For details and to register for e-billing, visit stalbert.ca and search ‘Monthly Utility E-billing’.
