No place for hate in our community: Statement from the Mayor and other elected officials representing St. Albert

On January 25, 2025, three individuals stood along St. Albert Trail holding disrespectful, racially motivated signs that do not reflect the values of our community.

As Mayor of St. Albert, I strongly condemn this disturbing incident and send an equally strong message of support for the values of inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility. I have invited other elected officials who represent St. Albert to join me in supporting this statement and I appreciate their willingness to stand together against the forces of ignorance, bigotry and hate.

The City of St. Albert is a welcoming and inclusive community. There is no room for hate in our neighbourhoods. As the St. Albert RCMP stated in their January 27, 2025 news release, “everyone should feel safe, and be treated with equality and respect.”
