Noise Bylaw Exemption Permit Revoked

Effective September 7, 2021, the City of St. Albert revoked a Noise Bylaw Exemption Permit it issued in March 2020, which allowed 24-hour deliveries during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. The exemption was previously requested to ensure critical supply chains were maintained at the beginning of the pandemic.

The City made the decision to revoke the permit to align with the current Government of Alberta direction.

Businesses are reminded that they should once again refrain from loading or unloading trucks in residential districts during Quiet Hours.

Quiet Hours means:

  • Monday though Friday between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. (local time)
  • Saturday between 11 p.m. and 9 a.m. (local time), and
  • Sunday and Holidays between 10 p.m. and 9 a.m. (local time).
