Remembering a Dedicated Firefighter

On Thursday, November 4, Emergency Services responded to a call involving off-duty City of St. Albert Firefighter, Warren Hillier. Mr. Hillier was transported to the Sturgeon Community Hospital, where he later died.  

The City is devasted by this news and extends our condolences to Mr. Hillier’s family, friends and colleagues. Mr. Hillier’s life will be remembered during a funeral service at the Alliance Church on Friday, November 12 at 2 p.m. 

Support resources have been dispatched to support Mr. Hillier’s colleagues through this time. Resources have also been made available to all City employees who may need additional support. There will be no further comment from the City on this personnel matter. 

The City wishes to remind everyone if you or someone you know is struggling with mental health challenges, to seek support. Resources are available and you are not alone.
