Annexation is a process that adjusts the boundary between two municipalities. In this instance, it’s about land currently governed by Sturgeon County being transferred to the jurisdiction of the City of St. Albert. Annexation does not change the private ownership of the land. The maximum potential annexation area is approximately 2,180 hectares; however, as the project progresses, the overall area considered for annexation may decrease.
For further information on the annexation process, including a map of the potential annexation area, or to subscribe to the annexation newsletter, visit the City of St. Albert website at stalbert.ca/annexation-sturgeon.
