Update at 11:45 a.m. on June 22: the ban on non-essential water use announced yesterday remain in place. We will evaluate the situation later today and share another update later this afternoon. Thanks for your ongoing cooperation.

The City of St. Albert has issued an Alberta Emergency Alert.

The City of St. Albert has issued a water supply alert.

Heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours has pushed the City's wastewater system to capacity, with localized flooding and backups being reported. If the wastewater system continues to operate over-capacity, flooding and sewer backups will continue to increase.

This alert is in effect for the entire City of St. Albert.

Action to take:

All residents must immediately cease all non-essential water use

Refrain from showering, flushing toilets, using laundry machines and dishwashers

Updates will be posted on stalbert.ca when more information is available
