City Launches Business Resiliency Program
On May 3, 2021, the City of St. Albert launched its Business Resiliency Program to support local businesses with their recovery efforts through two new matching grants.
Businesses can now apply for either a Marketing Grant (to a maximum of $500) or Digital Transformation Grant (to a maximum of $1,000) which cover up to 50 per cent of eligible costs towards areas such as graphic design, brand development or search engine optimization.
Applications will be accepted until the total funding for the program has been spent or September 30, 2021, whichever comes first.
“The Business Resiliency Program is designed to empower our local business owners,” says Mayor Cathy Heron. “With the assistance of these two grants, businesses will be able to take a closer look at their digital presence and marketing efforts to see how they can better showcase their services online as well as learn the skills needed to effectively promote themselves as they navigate the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.”
This program was developed in response to the demand expressed by local businesses in the Business Resiliency Survey, delivered by the City of St. Albert and the St. Albert and District Chamber of Commerce. It is funded to a maximum of $100,000, which was approved unanimously during the April 6, 2021 City Council Meeting. Details on the online learning opportunities and marketing student position associated with the Business Resiliency Program will be shared in the coming weeks.
Further information on each grant application, including program funding and criteria, can be found on the Business Resiliency Program page.
