Update for July 6, 2020

The City of St. Albert continues to take a thoughtful and measured approach in its response to COVID-19. Unless listed on the facility closures or in this release, all City services are still available for access by phone, email or online.

Due to the rapidly changing COVID-19 situation, this information is considered current as of the date of distribution.

City Council Meeting

At its July 6, 2020 meeting, St. Albert City Council discussed the next components of the Recreation and Cultural facilities reopening plans, including:

  • Reopening Community Clubhouses as early as the week of August 29 - September 5, 2020
  • Reopening Servus Place remaining facilities, programs and services as early as the week of August 29 - September 5, 2020
  • Re-introducing Arden Theatre professional programming, including family programming, as early as October 1, 2020
  • Reopening for Arden Theatre rentals as early as October 15, 2020

The City continues to follow all provincial guidelines for the safety of our employees and patrons. To reduce the risk of transmission, modifications are being made to each of these facilities or programs. Further information on how residents can access these facilities and programs, as well as what you can expect when you visit, will be available in the coming weeks. For more information on facilities, visit Now Open.

Cancellations

For resident safety due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the July 25 Large Item Drop-off event is cancelled due to handling procedures, physical distancing requirements, as well as extra garbage tags are currently not available for purchase.

The curbside Large Item Pickup event took place in June where residents disposed of large household items directly at the curb.

For more information on other seasonal programs or large item disposal options, visit stalbert.ca/waste.

The City thanks its residents and patrons as we work through our response to COVID- 19.
