Statement on Charges

Last week, the St. Albert RCMP announced a troubling set of charges against a St. Albert resident. The resident is alleged to have victimized at least two young people in our community.

We pride St. Albert on being a safe city and these types of crimes are extremely disturbing. Know that the local RCMP are committed to doing all they can to prevent crime in our community, and that crimes like this are very rare in our community. We also take comfort from the fact that when crime does take place, the RCMP dedicates the necessary resources to fully investigate them and apprehend those responsible.

The City of St. Albert and its members of Council remain fully committed in supporting our local law enforcement to ensure they have the resources necessary to keep our community safe, remove criminal activity and that those involved are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. 

I commend all those involved in addressing and removing this risk from our community.
