City Offering Support to Homeless Residents During Cold Snap

Working with Community Village & Food Bank and St. Albert Public Library

The City of St. Albert is working with the St. Albert Community Village and Food Bank, along with the St. Albert Public Library, to provide support for St. Albert’s homeless. The City and its partners will be sharing information with homeless residents to ensure they know how they can stay warm during the cold weather expected over the next few days.

During the day, the homeless can go to the Community Village and Food Bank for warm food and warm drinks. They can also go to the St. Albert Public Library to warm up (food and drinks are not available at the library locations).

Hours of operation are as follows:

  • Community Village and Food Bank (20 – 50 Bellerose Drive)
    • Monday to Sunday: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • St. Albert Public Library – St. Albert Place (5 St. Anne Street)
    • Monday to Thursday: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
    • Friday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • Sunday: 1 to 5 p.m.

  • St. Albert Public Library – Jensen Lakes (880 St. Albert Trail #1010)
    • Monday: Closed
    • Tuesday: 1 to 8 p.m.
    • Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • Thursday: 1 to 8 p.m.
    • Friday: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • Sunday: Closed

The Community Village and Food Bank can help the homeless find a place to stay at night.

Additional plans are underway to further address the needs of our vulnerable populations during extreme cold and will be shared as they are finalized.
