City Lifts Restrictions on Non-essential Water Use
Effective immediately, the City of St. Albert has lifted all restrictions on non-essential water use.
EPCOR has completed electrical repairs at the E.L. Smith Pumping Station and the facility is fully functional. EPCOR noted that this outage and repair was a tremendous undertaking and is grateful for the regional partners working together to conserve water this week. The efforts contributed greatly to their ability to tackle and resolve the issues while still ensuring the region remained supplied with essential water services.
Like EPCOR, the City is grateful to the residents and businesses who stepped up to reduce their non-essential water use. Thanks to our collective efforts, we were able to reduce St. Albert’s water draw, helping the region manage its water use while repairs were underway at the E.L. Smith water treatment plant.
Although the current situation is resolved, it serves to remind us that water is a precious resource and we should take simple steps to reduce our water use throughout the year.
