April 24 to Dec.30 – Sturgeon Road - #40 to #50

There will be a temporary road closure from #40 Sturgeon Road to #50 Sturgeon Road due to Project 9 construction and the installation of a shaft that will be used to launch tunneling equipment and pipes.

May 1 to Early Fall - Portions of Rivercrest Crescent 

Portions of Rivercrest Crescent will be closed due to Project 9 construction, which includes the relocation of a waterline, sewer pipe installation and road restoration.

  • St. Albert Transit is temporarily relocating St. Albert Centre Exchange to Muir Drive. For detailed information, visit ridestat.ca.

Until September 20 - Grenfell Avenue between Greenwich Crescent

Excavation work was started on Grenfell Avenue with the installation of pie to Greenwich Crescent.

Grenfell Avenue will be closed between the entrances of Greenwich Crescent. Traffic is being detoured through Greenwich Crescent. Please obey the reduced speed signs of 20 km/h.

Week of August 21 to mid-September - St. Albert Place Pedestrian Crossing Enhancements

Lane closures will be in effect on St. Anne Street while the following work is being done.

New pedestrian crossing enhancements are taking place across from St. Albert Place.

  • Centralized pedestrian crossing will be widened to 20 metres
  • New advance warning flashers will be installed on St. Anne Street to warn motorists that the pedestrian crossing is activated. 
  • The two signalized crossings at the far ends of St. Albert Place will be eliminated to help change driver behaviour of running red lights. 

These changes will enhance pedestrian safety, reduce delays to motorists and decrease infrastructure maintenance costs. 


September 5 to 23 - Temporary Road Closure - St. Michael Street (on west side of Perron Street)

Due to construction of the Perron Street Storm Sewer, St. Michael Street is temporarily closed between the City parking lot (across from City Hall) and Perron Street until September 23.

September 17 - 22 - Temporary Road Closure - Perron Street southbound - St. Anne to St. Thomas

Perron Street will be closed to southbound traffic from St. Anne Street to St. Thomas Street from September 17 to 22.

  • Northbound Perron Street will be open, with right turns only permitted onto St. Michael Street (east side of Perron).
  • Traffic on St. Michael Street (east side of Perron) are permitted right turns only onto Perron Street northbound.

Closure is due to the Perron Street Storm Sewer construction. For more information on this project, visit Perron Street Storm Sewer.
