Complete Streets Open House
Tuesday, October 30, 2018
5:00pm - 8:00pm
Alliance Church, 25416 Highway 633, St. Albert
The City is encouraging residents to attend an open house that will seek public input on conceptual designs for St. Albert Trail north, from Boudreau Road/Giroux Road to the northern City limits.
The City will be presenting conceptual cross-sections of St. Albert Trail, with short-, medium- and long-term time frames.
Participants will be asked to share their immediate needs and expectations and provide input into the proposed cross-sections.
The northern portion of St. Albert Trail has been identified as a priority area for transportation network improvements and will be converted from the existing wide rural cross-section to an urban cross-section aligning to the Complete Streets Guidelines. Areas that the City will be exploring include:
- Adding travel lanes to improve vehicle efficiency;
- Improving intersections for safe and efficient movement for all road users; and
- Improving accommodation and connectivity for active transportation such as cycling, walking and other non-motorized modes.
All information gathered at the open house will be reviewed and may be integrated into a recommended conceptual design.
