Playground Replacements

About the Project

The City of St. Albert has a Playground Lifecycle Program that identifies City playgrounds that are at the end of their lifecycle, or require extensive repair, and therefore require new playground equipment.

Public Participation

Four City playgrounds will be replaced in 2018 and residents were invited to give input on the new playground designs. They had the chance to choose between a modern playground, traditional playground, and themed playground. The following surveys closed on February 14, 2018: Gordon Park Playground Survey, Springfield Park Playground Survey, Alpine Park Playground Survey, Rivercrest in Red Willow Park Playground Survey.

Project Outcomes and Objectives:

Outcomes:

  • Receive input from residents on what playground design they prefer for each playground replacement.
  • Use the survey results to determine what style of playground will be used at each playground.

Objectives

  • Undertake public engagement to receive the community’s feedback on what playground designs are preferred.
  • Replace the old playgrounds with new playgrounds that the community has chosen.
