What is a Business Leaders Forum?

The purpose of the Business Leaders Forums is to bring together St. Albert business leaders and City officials to connect and collaborate in collective problem-solving. Discussions will focus on complex city building and local economy-related topics. There will be new topics for every forum.

When are they held?

Business Leaders Forums will be held once a year during the Fall (September to November). They are intended to be approximately 2.5 hours long and held in the evening, typically starting at 6 p.m.

Why Should I Participate?

Are you a creative problem solver? Are you passionate about St. Albert and making it a great place do business? Do you enjoy making connections with other like-minded business people?  Business Leaders Forums are intended to bring together individuals from a variety of sectors and industries, with a range of experience to collectively solve complex City challenges … Did we mention it comes with dinner?

What’s in it for me?

These forums are focused on bringing business leaders together and finding Made in St. Albert solutions to complex City challenges and/or local economy issues. Your unique business lens and experience may just be the perspective we need for our collective problem-solving. What a productive way to give back to your community!

How can I participate?

Some business leaders, within certain industries, professions, or with specific expertise may be invited to participate in a forum.

Other individuals who meet the Business Leader criteria, will have the opportunity to submit an application to participate in forums. Those who apply to participate in a forum will have the opportunity to be invited to future forums. This opportunity will be advertised locally.

Who hosts the Business Leaders Forum?

A professional facilitator will host the forum to ensure the format fosters collaboration and moves the discussion beyond basic problem identification.

Is a Public Report completed after each Forum?

A public “What We Heard Report” will be made available following each Business Leaders Forum. Reports are intended to provide a brief summary of the discussion of issues, common perspectives, common themes and consensus solutions. To assist with impartiality, reports will be completed by an independent consultant.
