Business Licensing Enforcement
The Business Licence Bylaw 43/2000 empowers the City of St. Albert to enforce business licensing requirements. Businesses that are operating in St. Albert are required to adhere to this bylaw, as well as all other applicable bylaws within the municipal boundary.
The City of St. Albert is supportive of a business-friendly community; however, businesses must be compliant with required bylaws or may be subject to fines, at the discretion of the Business Licence Inspector.
Please note, the Business Licence Inspector is not a law enforcement officer. For peace officer intervention, please contact a law enforcement agency such as Municipal Enforcement Services or the RCMP.
If you have a complaint regarding a business, please contact one of the following departments, depending on the type of concern:
Department | Phone Number | Type of Complaint |
Business Licensing | 780-459-1618 | Suspected unlicensed business |
Municipal Enforcement Services | 780-458-7700 | Excessive noise, increased traffic/parking or unsightly premises |
Royal Canadian Mounted Police | 780-458-4300 | Criminal matters (e.g., fraud, theft, impersonation) |
Municipal Enforcement Services and the RCMP are available 24 hours a day.Related Pages
