Business Licensing Enforcement

The Business Licence Bylaw 43/2000 helps the City of St. Albert ensure that all businesses are properly licensed and operating in accordance with community standards. All businesses operating within St. Albert must follow this bylaw, along with any other applicable municipal regulations.

The City of St. Albert is proud to support a vibrant, business-friendly community.

To help keep things running smoothly for everyone, businesses are expected to remain in compliance with required bylaws. If a business is found to be out of compliance, fines may be issued at the discretion of the Business Licence Inspector.

Please note that the Business Licence Inspector is not a law enforcement officer. If a situation requires the involvement of a peace officer, please contact Municipal Enforcement Services or the RCMP.

If you have a concern or complaint about a business, we encourage you to contact the appropriate department listed below, depending on the nature of your concern.
