Licence Renewals & Payments
Licence Renewals
All St. Albert business licences expire on December 31 and must be renewed for the following year if the business will continue operations.
Business Licence Renewals for 2026
Renewals will begin on Dec 1, 2025.
A renewal invoice will be emailed to your business.
Businesses are unable to renew prior to Dec 1.
Closed Account or Expired Business Licence?
The deadline to renew a business licence is January 31 of each year. Any accounts not renewed will be closed.
- If you'd like to re-open your account, please do not apply for a new licence. To reinstate a business licence, please contact: licensing@stalbert.ca or 780-459-1618.
Once payment is received, you will be emailed a PDF copy of your Licence Certificate within two (2) business days (copies of all licence certificates can be accessed at any time in your MyCity account).
An active business licence is a requirement to operate in the City of St. Albert as per Business Licence Bylaw 43/2000. Contravening the Bylaw is an offence that may be liable for a fine up to $1,500 or requiring an appearance in court without the option of making a voluntary payment. Should you wish to obtain further information concerning City bylaws, please visit: St. Albert Bylaws.
