All St. Albert business licences expire on December 31 and must be renewed for the following year if the business will continue operations.

Renew a Business Licence
The deadline to renew a business licence was Jan 31, 2026.
Notice: VISA Debit is not accepted on the Online Payment Portal.
LATE RENEWAL PENALTY NOTICE
Any business continuing to operate in St. Albert that has not renewed has been charged a $75.00 late payment penalty
(in-town/resident licence accounts only).A Renewal Reminder Notice was sent on Jan 2, 2026, and a Renewal Final Notice was sent on Jan 21, 2026.
Once payment is received, you will be emailed a PDF copy of your Licence Certificate within two (2) business days (copies of all licence certificates can be accessed at any time in your MyCity account).
An active business licence is a requirement to operate in the City of St. Albert as per Business Licence Bylaw 43/2000. Contravening the Bylaw is an offence that may be liable for a fine up to $1,500 or requiring an appearance in court without the option of making a voluntary payment.
