Requirement for a Business Licence
A bylaw is a law made by a local authority in accordance with the powers conferred by the Municipal Government Act. Council may pass bylaws to govern the affairs within the municipality.
Many municipalities in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region have passed bylaws related to business licensing to regulate and support their respective business communities.
In St. Albert, any person that carries on or operates a business must hold a valid business licence, as per Business Licence Bylaw 43/2000
