Relaunching Alberta

On December 8, the Province added new mandatory public health measures with additional restrictions for business, service providers and places of worship effective December 13, 2020.

Complete details on the new provincewide restrictions can be found on the Stronger Public Health Measures page of the Government of Alberta website. Information for business includes:

  • Business and service restrictions (retail; restaurants, bars, pubs, lounges and cafes; entertainment and recreation facilities; personal and wellness services; health, social and professional services; hotels, motels, hunting and fishing lodges; performance activities; sport and physical activities)

Keeping people safe

Alberta’s Relaunch Strategy puts safety first, while carefully and gradually reopening businesses, resuming activities, and getting people back to work.

Business operators must take steps to protect employees and customers by modifying their operations and implementing practices to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 infection among employees and visitors.

Guidance and supports on what measures to take are available on the Alberta Biz Connect webpage.

Some recommended modifications that businesses should include in written workplace policies and procedures can be found in the provincial Workplace Guidance For Business Owners guide book.
