About the Project
With the building located at #13 Mission Avenue not being used, the former “NABI building” is scheduled to be decommissioned and demolished to prepare the land for future use.
Work Required
- Removal of hazardous material used in the original construction of the building.
- The City will ensure that the hazardous waste removal is aligned with all Federal/Provincial and Occupational Health and Safety standards to ensure the safety of our workers, property and the surrounding community.
- Demolition of building.
- Removal of building, services, sidewalk, and concrete basement walls and footings. Areas of excavation are only within building envelope and service trenching.
- Place fill material within building and services. Cap area with a clay and gravel surface.
- Parking lot asphalt surface to remain with no removals.
Please Note: No trees will be removed or harmed during the demolition process.
Timeline
- September to December 2023: Decommission and demolition of the building is complete.
