Fire Station No.4

About the Project

Constructing a fire hall in the city’s north end will help maintain timely and reliable emergency services as St. Albert continues to grow. New development in the north and west has increased travel distances for St. Albert Fire Services, affecting response times and placing additional demands on existing fire halls. The new location will improve emergency coverage, reduce travel times to developing neighbourhoods and provide the infrastructure needed to support future population growth while maintaining effective fire and medical response throughout the city.

Work required:

  • Site grading
  • Construction of a two-storey administrative building with 2 double deep apparatus bays
  • Installation of sanitary and water services from the east side of St Albert Trail
  • Roadway access from the west side of the intersection of Ernest Boulevard and St Albert Trail
  • Installation of third-party utilities (gas, electric, fibre) services
  • Landscaping and civil works

Potential Construction Impacts

During construction activities, residents can anticipate the following impacts:

  • Lane closures along Ernest Boulevard for facilitating utility installations
  • Truck traffic from site
  • Ground disturbance at the site

Timeline

  • Site stripping has begun with building construction to follow. Building completion is anticipated in early 2028 (weather dependent).
