Liggett Place Expansion & Lifecycle Repairs

About the Project

Originally constructed in 1985, Liggett Place (StAT Transit Garage) is the cities sole transit garage facility. Liggett Place has previously undergone expansions and renovations in 2001 and 2010.

Steady upward trend in transit service hours over time has increased annual kilometers driven, has also increased maintenance requirements for the existing fleet. Currently storage space to maintain and repair units is challenging on a daily basis.

This project is intended to design and construct a new 12-lane parking extension garage, and an additional maintenance bay to accommodate present and future service levels, new transit buses and to house additional support equipment and staff.

In addition to support the expansion replacement and repair of existing systems within the facility including but not limited to electrical and mechanical systems will need to be completed.

The city intends to have the design portion of the project completed in early 2025 and construction to commence in Q2 2025 and be completed by Fall 2026.
