Hebert Road Improvements

About this Project

The City has begun the reconstruction of Hebert Road between Sunset Boulevard and Falstaff Avenue/Akins Drive. This work is being done to address current deficiencies of the roadway and the resulting poor ride quality and conditions that influence seasonal roadway maintenance. Started in June 2025, the project will focus on reconstruction of the northeast bound lanes (this is now complete and on Contractor maintenance as of late August 2025), and pending December 2025 Council budget approval, the southwest bound lanes will be reconstructed. By completing the work over two years, the City will be able to lessen overall impacts and minimize disruption to residents and road users between the project area.

Work that is Required

The existing roadway structure will be removed and rebuilt.
Extensive concrete curb and gutter replacement.
Minor landscaping and utility upgrades will also be completed within the project footprint.

Project Timeline

Early June to late August (2025) northeast bound lanes between Sunset Boulevard and Falstaff Drive/Akins Drive. This section is now complete and on Contractor maintenance.
Pending budget approval, late Spring through Summer months (2026) southwest bound lanes between Sunset Boulevard to Falstaff Drive/Akins Drive.
