About this Project

The City will be reconstructing Hebert Road between Sunset Boulevard and Fraser Drive. This work is being done to address current deficiencies of the roadway and the resulting poor ride quality and conditions that influence seasonal roadway maintenance. The project will be broken up into two phases, with each phase being anticipated to take one year to complete, in order to minimize disruption to residents and road users. 

Work that is required

• The existing roadway structure will be removed and rebuilt
• Extensive concrete curb and gutter replacement
• Construction of a new sidewalk along the north side of Hebert Road that will connect Amber Crescent and Falstaff Avenue
• Minor landscaping and utility upgrades will also be completed within the project footprint

Project Timeline

• May 2023 to August 2023 - Phase 1 between Falstaff Drive/Akins Drive to Fraser Drive is complete.
• Anticipated 2025 - Phase 2 between Sunset Blvd to Falstaff Drive/Akins Drive will be completed pending budget approval and in conjunction with the completion of the Sturgeon Heights Reservoir and Paul Kane School construction projects, as these projects will be using this segment of roadway as a haul route during their construction and decommissioning phases.
