Ray Gibbon Drive Phase 3
About this Project
Phase 3 of the Ray Gibbon Drive Twinning project will deliver improvements to the corridor from north of McKenney Avenue to north of Giroux Road. Work will complete roadway widening to a four-lane divided arterial with a trail on the east and west sides of the roadway, as well as maintain an at-grade rail crossing south of Giroux Road. Separation of the rail crossing would not be a consideration of the project until warranted by Transport Canada standards. At this time, it is not warranted.
Work will also include intersection improvements to the Giroux Road intersection. During this phase of work, Giroux Road will be widened to a four-lane arterial to complete the remaining segment that is currently a two-lane undivided portion of roadway. Trial connections will also be completed on Giroux Road in order to link to the new trails along Ray Gibbon Drive.
Timeline
The construction of Phase 3 (North of McKenney Avenue to north of Giroux Road) is planned to commence in May 2025 and be completed by fall 2026.
