
Villeneuve Road
The Project
Villeneuve Road, between Ray Gibbon Drive and St. Albert Trail, is a connector arterial roadway in the City’s transportation network. Upgrading of the existing rural cross-section is underway to deliver an urbanized roadway complete with shared-use paths/sidewalks, streetlighting, underground stormwater and utilities, landscaping and intersection improvements.
Timeline
Construction is being delivered in a phased, multi-year approach, which began in 2022 and is expected to continue through 2029 with gaps in construction years.

Phased Work
- Phase 1: Completed through phased construction, with the bulk of the work occurring in 2022 and 2023. This phase is now under contractor warranty.
- Phase 2A: Construction completed in 2025.
- Phase 2B: Construction is anticipated to begin in mid-May 2026, with completion expected in October 2026. This work will require the closure of Villeneuve Road, between Hogan Road and Dennison Drive/Jensen Gate. For more information, please refer to the Villeneuve Road Urbanization page
