Fowler Way

Supporting Northwest Growth

Identified in the 2015 Transportation Master Plan (TMP) and 2018 Transportation Network Strategy, Fowler Way is identified as a priority future roadway in northwest St. Albert.

This future four-lane divided crosstown arterial will provide an important multi-modal connection between Ray Gibbon Drive and St. Albert Trail, supporting development growth in northwest St. Albert for years to come.

In 2018, a functional planning study was completed for Fowler Way to define the general alignment, cross-section and intersection locations, among other things. In 2022/2023, subsequent environmental, historical resource, and geotechnical assessments were completed, as well as further review of the proposed alignment, including the interim tie-in between Fowler Way and Ray Gibbon Drive.

Building upon these previous efforts, preliminary design work began in 2023 to finalize the roadway’s horizontal/vertical alignment and cross-section and establish informed site considerations for delivery toward detailed design and construction. Construction of the roadway is anticipated to begin in 2028 and will require a multiyear construction period until approximately 2030.
