Transportation Impact Assessments

Assessing impacts to the transportation network

A Transportation Impact Assessment (TIA) is a planning tool used to estimate, analyze and understand transportation impacts, which may be requested by the City as supporting documentation with proposed development.

The City of St. Albert Transportation Impact Assessment Guidelines, published in 2018, are comprehensive guidelines to assist landowners, developers and consultants in understanding when a TIA may be required and the expectations of content, presentation, methodology, and submission requirements.
