Initiative #3: Neighbourhood Intensification Strategy

This initiative is about making it easier for small-scale growth to happen within St. Albert’s existing neighbourhoods over time, while remaining compatible with the surrounding area.
This means making it easier to build slightly narrower single-detached and semi-detached homes in neighbourhoods where they're already enabled.
What we're NOT doing, is introducing 6 or 8-plexes, nor changing regulations for parking, building heights, setbacks, and more.
Aspects of this initiative overlap with Initiative #1 (Transit Corridor Intensification Strategy) and include studies on growth, utility infrastructure and other technical aspects. For complete details, please review the staff report.
