Initiative #1: Transit Corridor Intensification Strategy

“Drop-in” open house regarding initiatives #1 and #3:
Thursday, June 18th from 4 to 7 p.m. in Progress Hall within
St. Albert Place, 5 St. Anne Street.

Can’t attend?  We’ve got you covered! All display materials will be posted here within a few days of the event.

The goal of this initiative is to guide how St. Albert grows by improving how we plan and redevelop land for housing and mixed-use spaces.

This work will focus on areas within 800 metres of planned transit nodes along St. Albert Trail.

Aspects of this initiative may overlap with Initiative #3 (Neighbourhood Intensification Strategy), and will include studies on growth, utility infrastructure, transportation and other technical aspects.

As a result of these studies, a portion of the CMHC funding may be used to support infrastructure upgrades, preliminary design studies and other related projects.

To meet the community’s housing needs, the City is advancing work that supports a variety of housing options. Before housing-related regulations are drafted, the City had asked for public input about four (4) guiding principles through a survey which is now closed. A 'What We Learned' report is available HERE.
