Zach Moostoos-Willier
Zach Moostoos-Willier is a 20-year-old Cree and Métis neo-traditional singer, songwriter and fiddler who comes from Sucker Creek First Nation. In April 2022 he was asked by the Royal Canadian National Geographic Society to represent Western Canada for the launch of the UNESCO Decade of Indigenous Languages in Ottawa, Ontario. In March 2023 he released his first album titled The New Sound Of Zach Willier (available on all streaming platforms), a neo-traditional country music album that includes nine original songs. In April 2023 he was one of the two first recipients to receive the Stirling John Foundation for Youth Empowerment support for Indigenous youth in Alberta. Since January 2024, Zach has been attending East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee, studying for his degree in Bluegrass and Country music.
