What's Happening
JUNO Award-winners, The East Pointers’ Tim Chaisson (vocals/fiddle/percussion) and Jake Charron (guitar/keyboards) are innovators of modern folk, crafting a joy-conjuring, dancefloor-shaking fusion of folk, pop and dance. Four records capture the furious energy of their live shows, adding to the legacy of East Coast Folk while lighting a path for a new generation of music lovers.
Their newest offering, Schoonertown captures the moments that shaped their youth: nights out with the boys, the dizzy romance of first love, sprawling families and small towns, two weeks in a bleak winter, kitchen parties and vinyl records and tape decks, every mistake, every late night, every long drive, beer and cigarettes and fights, laughing until you can’t breathe, ambition rising like a king tide, the piss and vinegar of youth, the sun emerging so bright over the horizon you have to shield your eyes, and the devastation and exhilaration of all of it.

Michaela Slinger
Michaela Slinger is punching above her weight as one of North America’s most exciting rising singer-songwriters. Her latest independent record, Green and Trying, marks a shift toward her self-described “Laurel Canyon era” and features 10 songs that detail delicate moments inside relationships, navigate change, and earnestly ask the question: how does one become a good (or better) person?
Michaela has supported artists like Dermot Kennedy, Sasha Alex Sloan, and Donovan Woods, and performed at festivals including JUNOFest and Treefort Festival. Green and Trying has already received national coverage on CBC Q and a spread in RANGE Magazine.
Her previous single "Everything I Wasn't Looking For" off her 2023 album, This Can’t Last Forever, appeared in Netflix's show BET in May 2025, introducing her to new fans across the world and landing her on Shazam charts. That record helped cement her rise, including a nomination for Pop Artist of the Year at the 2024 Western Canadian Music Awards.
