Women of Song brings together four dynamic, female-led Alberta acts for a vibrant celebration of originality, musicianship, and homegrown talent at the Arden Theatre.
Emerging Edmonton artist Bianca Isabella has already performed from coast to coast, taking stages from Vancouver to Montreal as a member of her former band. Now she is forging a new path as a solo artist --sharing her own stories, developing her distinctive sound, and bringing a lifelong dream to life. Rooted in ethereal indie pop, dream-grunge, and folk-rock, her music is intimate, atmospheric, and entirely her own.
Award-winning Alberta country duo Sugar & Spice, made up of Shelly Dubois and Danita Lynn, bring undeniable authenticity, humour, heartache, and pure fun to the stage. Drawing inspiration from their rural Alberta roots and their experiences as women, wives, mothers, musicians, and songwriters, their music is rich with personality and truth. With beautifully blended harmonies, natural chemistry, and a lively stage presence, Sugar & Spice turn every performance into a dancing, singing, foot-stomping country party.
Laurelle K is a seasoned singer-songwriter whose passion for meaningful music has taken many forms, from choirs and solo performances to touring and recording with acclaimed Alberta folk artist Bill Bourne. She seamlessly blends folk, jazz, and soul into an evocative and timeless sound. Through expressive guitar work, deeply personal songwriting, and captivating storytelling, Laurelle has the ability to transport an audience and reveal the hidden layers of the authentic self.
Closing out the evening is Femmes Voyous, a fiercely energetic Edmonton band fronted by two powerhouse female vocalists. Blending punk, ska, rock, and pop, their music is packed with catchy melodies, singalong choruses, strong musicianship, and plenty of personality. Known for their high-energy live shows --and even a little choreography --Femmes Voyous are ready to turn the Arden Theatre into a full-blown celebration.
From intimate storytelling and soulful melodies to country harmonies and high-energy pop-punk, every act brings something completely different to the stage.
