What's Happening

Come and join Youth in Action and Hugs n' Stitches Quilting Group of St. Albert to learn the basics of sewing, fabric art, and embroidery for quilting.

For the last six months the community has been creating squares for an intergenerational quilt to combat ageism. This event will be an opportunity to build relationships between older and younger generations and learn how to piece together a quilt, which will be displayed in June.

Connecting Generations is a program led by Youth in Action that aims at bridging the generational gap between youth (15-24) and older adults (50+) through group events and activities.

Intergenerational connections are proven to enhance the lives of both youth and seniors in meaningful ways, including building self-esteem, enhancing leadership skills and encouraging a lifelong commitment to volunteerism.
