About the artists:
The Great Balanzo (Aytahn Ross)
The Great Balanzo turns the everyday into an adventure with circus and comedy for all ages. He is the last surviving member of the Balanzo family, who performed circus for over 300 years. Now there is only one Balanzo left and his shows include the best of circus stunts, physical comedy and his signature silly elegance!
Aytahn Ross has been seen by over a million people in thirteen countries around the world. He's performed at sold out shows at Just For Laughs and the National Arts Centre of Canada, and once John Cleese of Monty Python said hello to him.
Andrea House is a performing songwriter, recording artist and actor from Edmonton. She has performed with Teatro La Quindicina, Shadow Theatre, the Citadel Theatre, Mayfield Dinner Theatre, the Winspear Centre for Music and the Edmonton International Folk Music Festival, as well as club dates across Canada and the US. Andrea has been privileged to perform at the Northern Alberta Children's Festival of the Arts twice, learning and sharing among some of the best performers in the world.
Gustavo the Impossibilist (Dean Bareham)
Dean Bareham is the Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Green Fools Theatre in Calgary. For the last twenty eight years he has been delighting audiences around the globe with his buffoonery and stilt characters. Dean has performed and taught workshops all across Canada, Europe, South America, Macedonia, New Zealand, Lesotho, Japan and the USA. He has performed with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Symphony in Ottawa and with Cirque du Soleil at the Luminato Festival in Toronto.
Lyne Gosselin is excited to share her passion on stage, performing her aerial and acrobatic shows for over twenty years. She has travelled across Canada, the US and Japan with the unique trio trampoline show Spring Action. Her athletic background, love for teaching and curiosity are a perfect fit for the circus arts. She has worked with the EMC, Ecole de Cirque du Quebec and Firefly Theatre in Edmonton.
Ron Pearson has been a professional magician, producer and playwright for over thirty years. He was chosen to represent Canada as a performer at both the Commonwealth Games in Manchester, England and the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC. The Globe and Mail has called his magic, "Brilliant", and the Edmonton Journal has said he performs, "Mind-Boggling Sleight of Hand".
Jay Flair is an award winning magician and juggler who will have you on the edge of your seat! She has won first place at the prestigious PCAM Magic Convention and has appeared at the legendary Magic Castle in Los Angeles. From her amazing circus skills to her brilliant sleight of hand, Jay will leave you amazed and delighted!
Nikolai Smith has been entertaining Edmonton audiences for over 30 years. He has traveled the world with Edmonton Tourism's Festival In A Box, performing in New York, Los Angeles and Mexico City. His amazing array of comedic characters never fails to bring out the child in everyone!
