Unpacking for the Journey…
Death is the most undesired event in life, yet one required for our transformation. Explore how practical and spiritual preparation helps one face our mortality. End-of-life planning is reviewed, along with steps that heal the heart and connect with hope.
David Maginley is an interfaith counselor with the cancer, palliative and ICU programs at the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and author of Beyond Surviving: Cancer and Your Spiritual Journey. He has also survived cancer four times, which resulted in a profound near-death experience and explorations in the nature of consciousness and the connection of body, mind and spirit. He is an advisor for provincial and federal cancer initiatives, and lectures throughout Canada on integrative spirituality in health care.
David knows what it’s like to have cancer from both sides of the hospital bed, and has a sense of this life from both sides of the veil.
