What's Happening
Help St. Albert to make a Period Promise Pledge
Period poverty is a complex issue with multiple contributing factors. These include being unable to afford menstrual products, limited access to washrooms, inadequate laundry services, stigma related to gender identity, and shame associated with menstruation.
Almost one-quarter of people who menstruate in Canada report struggling to afford menstrual products for themselves or their children. And when people don’t have menstrual products, they often miss school, work, or other opportunities to contribute to their community.
How can you help?
Drop off tampons, pads, and panty liners in marked donation boxes, during operational hours between March 1 and 17 at one of the following locations:
- St. Albert Place (5 St Anne Street, St. Albert, AB, T8N 3Z9)
- Servus Credit Union Place (400 Campbell Road, St. Albert, AB T8N 0R8)
- Fountain Park Recreation Centre (4 Cunningham Rd, St Albert, AB, T8N 2E9)
- Jarome Iginla Arena (66 Hebert Rd, St. Albert, AB T8N 2X9)
Donated period products will be shared with United Way and among St. Albert social service agencies.
