Soulfire - Grades 7 to 12 takes place on the third Thursday of each month at Little White School. Tap into ways you can find deeper connections and learn about your own mental health... but in a FUN and UNIQUE way!

Your Inner Light: Candle Decorating and Emotional Regulation

Even though we all look different, we all get dysregulated. In this lesson, we learn why we sometimes 'flip our lid' and what can help us come back to ourselves. We don’t like to be told to calm down, we like to be shown how! Each student will decorate a candle that reflects their best self — the version of them that shines the brightest when they feel safe, seen, and grounded.

Feelings Are Messy (and That’s Okay!)

Nobody is happy all the time — and that’s not the goal. What matters is learning how to feel all the feelings, recognize them in your body, and express them in healthy ways. We’ll use the emotion wheel, play the Stuff Happens game, and name tricky emotion combos (like scangry, smadlina, hervy, and jelone). Each student will get to paint some feeling rocks; a decorated rock that represents one emotion they’ve had trouble expressing or understanding.

Connection and Empowerment

This month is all about discovering how your body and mind work together and how reconnecting with yourself can help you feel more grounded, confident and strong. Kids will learn simple movements and breathing techniques that support emotional well-being. These tools can help you reset when things feel overwhelming — in school, at home or anywhere in between. When we listen to our bodies, we can take care of our minds.

Mood Food: Smoothies and Emotional Fuel 

What we eat can change how we feel! This lesson is a delicious way to explore how food affects mood, focus, and energy. Kids will get to make their own smoothies while learning about the connection between nutrition and emotional regulation. We’ll also talk about what foods help us feel steady, strong, or calm, and listening to what our bodies need.
