What's Happening

Located at the Akinsdale Clubhouse, this is a space for youth ages 12 to 18 to be themselves – to learn new skills, try different activities, discover other youth programs and get involved in the community. Or, just come and chill!

MAY activities

May 1: Slime Time
Ready to make some seriously cool slime? Come get creative and mix up a perfect batch of stretchy, gooey slime!

May 6: Self-care Crafting

Take a moment for yourself with self-care crafting. This drop-in activity is all about slowing down, getting creative, and making space for your mental well-being—no pressure, just a chance to recharge through hands-on creativity.

May 7: Build Your Own Grounding Bag

Create your own grounding bag to help bring you back to the present moment. Fill it with items that engage your senses—textures, scents, and sights—that help you calm down when feeling anxious or stressed. Personalize it with meaningful items that resonate with you and support your mental well-being.

May 8: Chalk the Walk

Chalk the Walk: Empowering Mental Health through Empathy and Art! This activity invites you to create sidewalk chalk messages and art that uplift others, focusing on kindness, connection, and empathy. Personalize your drawings to reflect what mental health means to you and share your creativity to inspire the community

May 13: No Bake Baking

Join us for a fun and delicious no-bake baking session! Mix, shape and enjoy easy, tasty treats—no oven required. Perfect for all skill levels!

May 14: Watercolor Wednesday

Want to try your hand at watercolor painting? Join us for a creative afternoon where you’ll learn the basics, experiment with colors, and create your own masterpiece to take home!

May 15: Jeopardy!

This…is… Jeopardy! Join us at the clubhouse for Jeopardy! Test your knowledge, compete with friends, and see who can win the most points in this fast-paced trivia challenge!

May 20: World Bee Day

Celebrate these tiny but mighty pollinators and learn how they play a huge role in our environment. Join us for fun activities and ways to appreciate the bees that help keep our world blooming. 

May 21: You(th) Decide!

The choice is yours! Whether it's getting creative, playing games, or trying something new, come make the day your own!

May 22: PLAY @ the Youth Clubhouse (with the City of St. Albert's Rec and Parks Department) 
Are you ready to play? Our Recreation Leaders are! Join them in the Youth Clubhouse as they lead us through a variety of activities and games

May 27: Painting (with Kikosewin Family Resource Network)

Grab some paints and brushes and let your creativity run wild! No experience needed—just have fun, splash some colors, and let your imagination take over

May 28: Tie Dye

Get creative with colors and patterns in this hands-on tie-dye activity! Twist, fold, and dye to make your own unique design.
