What's Happening

Located at the Akinsdale Clubhouse, this is a space for youth ages 12 to 18 to be themselves – to learn new skills, try different activities, discover other youth programs and get involved in the community. Or, just come and chill!

JUNE activities

June 3: Soap Stone Carving: Part 1 (with Kikosewin Family Resource Network)

Participants will learn how to shape and sculpt soft soapstone using hand tools. This hands-on activity introduces basic carving techniques to create simple figures or designs, ending with polishing for a smooth finish.

June 4: Movie Day!

It’s Movie Day at the Clubhouse! Come hang out, enjoy some snacks, and watch a great movie together. Be sure to cast your vote for the movie you want to watch while you’re here — we’ll pick the one with the most votes! Stay after the movie for a fun group discussion about what we’ve watched!

June 11: Transit Trip to St. Albert Place (with St. Albert Public Library)

We are taking the Clubhouse on the road! Join us and we we’ll learn how to take public transit together to St. Albert Place! This is a great chance to get comfortable using the bus, explore our City, and take a tour of the the Downtown Libary. Permission forms are required and must be signed and returned in advance. June 17: Metis Dot Art (with Kikosewin Family Resource Network)

Participants will explore the traditional Métis art form of dot painting, inspired by floral beadwork patterns. Using paint and tools like cotton swabs or styluses, they will create colorful designs made entirely of dots, learning about Métis culture and symbolism through hands-on creativity.

June 18: CANCELLED - PLAY @ the Youth Clubhouse (with the City of St. Albert's Rec and Parks Department) 
Are you ready to play? Our Recreation Leaders are! Join them in the Youth Clubhouse as they lead us through a variety of activities and games

June 24: Dream Catchers (with Kikosewin Family Resource Network)

Participants will learn about the origins and cultural significance of dreamcatchers in Indigenous traditions. Guided step by step, they will create their own dreamcatchers using hoops, string, beads, and feathers, while gaining a deeper appreciation for the meaning behind this symbolic craft.

June 25: Last Day of Clubhouse!

Come hang out with us one last time as we wrap up the Clubhouse for the season! Whether you’ve dropped in once or showed up every week, we want to celebrate you. We’ll have snacks, and a few surprises as we head into summer!
