What's Happening
The municipal councils of the City of St. Albert and Sturgeon County recognize the value of ongoing communication between the two municipalities and the importance of having a mechanism to discuss matters of mutual interest. To this end, the two municipalities have created a joint council committee (Bylaw 11/2007), comprised of all members of both councils, to facilitate this intermunicipal communication and information sharing.
The joint IAC is comprised of all members of both Councils and provides a framework for discussion between the two municipalities on matters of mutual interest, facilitating intermunicipal communication and information sharing. The Intermunicipal Annexation Negotiating Committee is a sub-committee of the Intermunicipal Affairs Committee (IAC) which was formed to negotiate the terms of the annexation of Sturgeon County lands by the City of St. Albert. The committee will also look at issues arising between Sturgeon County and the City of St. Albert regarding the annexation between the two municipalities. The Mayor is an ex-officio member. This committee meets quarterly.
Please be advised this meeting will be conducted electronically and no in person attendance is available until further notice.
